The Turkey Valley baseball team (18-16, 9-9 UIC) finished the regular season on a strong note, defeating Riceville in two games Thursday and Friday.

Thursday at home
Thursday night the Trojans hosted Riceville (14-14), winning 8-7 in 10 innings.
This was a game that began at the New Hampton tournament May 31. The game was tied 7-7 in the eighth inning when it was called due to rain.
It was back and forth through the first six innings, with the game tied 7-7. In the 10th, it was Riley Meirick who finally got across the plate to get the win. The inning started with Justin Izer reaching base on an error. Justin Hackman then got on base on a bunt, with Izer getting an out. Meirick then walked, and Michael Novotny reached on an error. A fielder’s choice by Kyle Reicks left the bases loaded. A single by Luke Kuennen scored Meirick for the win.
