They may be small in terms of numbers, but the talent of the Turkey Valley girls golf team should loom large this spring on the golf course.

The Trojans return four members of last year's team. Standing in the way of a top finish is the development of the new players.

Leading the team this season is Head Coach John Reicks. Reicks is in his second year at the helm.



Learning

With seven members out for last year's team, the Turkey Valley golf season was a work in progress. The Trojans finished the regular season with a 3-9 record. At the Upper Iowa Conference meet, the girls finished sixth in team standings with 492 strokes. Senior Lexi Dietzenbach led the way by shooting a 118, good for 21st. Toril Einwalter wasn't far behind, taking 29th with 122 strokes.

At the district meet, the Trojans finished seventh overall with 475 strokes. The Trojans were led by T. Einwalter, who shot a 108 to take 14th overall. Also competing were Josie Einwalter, 117, 26th; Dietzenbach, 120, 29th; Nicole Meirick, 130, 39th; Jamee Blazek, 131, 40th; and Jensen Winter, 146, 53rd.
