Two Luther College athletes were recognized by the Iowa Athletic Conference this week.
Carli Radil was named the softball position player of the week while Ramesh Karki was named the men’s tennis player of the week.
Radil, a sophomore infielder from Chanhassen, Minn., hit .667 (6-of-9) with a 1.667 slugging percentage and an .800 on-base percentage as the No. 7 Norse opened the season with four wins. She hit three home runs, had eight RBIs, scored five runs and drew six walks. In an 11-3, six-inning win over St. Norbert, Radil had three hits, including a double and a home run with three RBI and two runs scored. Radil is the daughter of Terry and Karen Radil.
Karki, a senior from Kathmandu, Nepal, posted a pair of victories as Luther swept St. Olaf, 9-0. He defeated Joey Kronzer 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles and teamed with Quinn Foley for an 8-3 win over Kronzer and Ben Carlson at No. 1 doubles. Karki is the son of Oman B. and Biwita Karki.
