South Winn hosted the South Winn cross country invite Tuesday night, entertaining Decorah and Turkey Valley among other schools.

The boys' race saw a 1-2-3 finish for the area schools.

In the girls' race, both Decorah and South Winn fielded a full team.



Flying high Vikes

Decorah finished first in both meets.

In the boys' race, the Vikes, who are ranked No. 6 in Class 3A, collected 22 points on the way to the victory. Isaac Marquardt, who is ranked No. 20 in Class 3A, was the overall champion in 16:52.20, winning by 6.5 seconds.

Third place went to Decorah senior Oran Deen-Lester. Ranked No. 28, he took third in 16:59.70. In 17:17.30, No. 30 Forde Nesteby came in fourth. Touring the course in 17:48.30, Bryce Hosting was sixth overall. Andrew Larson completed the team score. He finished eighth in 17:54.30. Also running in the top-seven were Jacob Hrdlicka, ninth in 18:02.50; and Timothy Meyer, 10th in 18:02.80.
