It was a two-hit affair that didn’t go South Winn’s way to start the softball season Friday as the Warriors (0-1) fell to New Hampton (2-1) 4-0 at home.
South Winn managed just one hit in the game, a single by Brittany Shindelar. Kendal Kuboushek also got on base with a walk.
New Hampton broke the stalemate with three runs in the third and one in in the sixth.
The Chickasaws also had just one hit but scored three unearned runs.
Shindelar took the loss on the mound. She gave up just the one hit and struck out four.

The Warriors were at Starmont Monday. Thursday, June 5, they host Clayton Ridge, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Saturday they go to the Crestwood tournament.
