Playing at the same course as they did earlier in the week, the South Winn boys golf team competed at Big Rock Golf Course in Fayette Friday in the sectional meet.

The top two teams and four individuals advance to the district round.

In the end, Denver won the tournament with a 315, with Sumner-Fred taking second with 318 strokes. South Winn finished third with 340 strokes.

Winning the medal was Sumner-Fred's Damon Nuss, who shot a 73. South Winn's Trevor Schweinefus was the runner-up with a 75.

Also advancing were Izaak Shedenhelm of Denver with a 76 and Chase Shedenhelm of Denver with a 77.

Logan Schweienfus was second for the Warriors with an 82. Also competing were Tanner Kuennen, 91; Tanner Mashek, 92; Quinten Taylor, 94; and Lars Warth, 94.

"It was a disappointing round for the team after shooting 314 on Monday and coming back with a 340 on Friday," said SW Co-Coach Doug Schweinefus. "We would like to thank the seniors on the team for a good season."

T. Schweienfus will compete at the district meet Friday, May 17, at Fox Ridge Golf Course, beginning at 10 a.m. The top four individuals from district move on to the state tournament May 24-25.
