A 21-point first quarter by the Class 3A No. 2 Decorah football team (4-0, 1-0 district) allowed the Vikings to sail past Charles City (0-4, 0-1 district) Friday night in non-district action.

Following a Comet fumble, Holt Johansen took the handoff and went 29 yards for the first score of the night.

Junior Jake Hovden scored his second special teams touchdown of the season when he returned a punt to the house.

Also scoring for the Vikes were Mikhail Suvorov, Hovden on the offensive end, Johansen again, Bryce Pierce and Andy Sikkink.
