The Class 4A No. 10 Waverly-Shell Rock girls basketball team (16-3, 10-0 NEIC) blew past the Decorah girls (3-15, 1-9 NEIC) Friday night on the way to a 74-38 victory in Decorah.

The Go-Hawks were on fire offensively from the get-go, scoring 26 points in the first quarter as the Vikes found themselves down 7-26 after eight minutes. It didn't get any better in the second as Decorah fell behind by 21 at the half, 19-40. Decorah trailed 30-54 with eight minutes remaining.

Decorah was led by Sondra Zidlicky, who had eight points. Payton Hjerleid had seven while Linnea Kephart added six.
