It was an all-out battle Wednesday night in Decorah as the South Winn baseball team (6-0, 2-0 UIC) defeated Decorah (2-4, 1-1 NEIC) 4-3.
The Warriors scored two runs in the top of the first to take the lead. The Vikings had the bases loaded in the bottom half of the inning but didn’t get any across the plate. South Winn put up another run in the third and added one in the fifth to make it 4-0. The Vikings scratched across two in the fifth and one in the seventh but couldn’t get the tie.

South Winn highlights
The Warriors were aided by their pitcher Jordan Rommes. He threw all seven innings, giving up three earned runs on eight hits and seven strikeouts.
At the plate, Rommes was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Christian Kleve had a hit, a safety squeeze sac bunt, with three RBI. Jared Schroeder was 1-for-2 with three runs scored and two stolen bases. Ryan Hageman and Tyler Numedahl also each had a hit.
