The names may have changed over the past six years, but the outcome has remained the same.
For the sixth year in a row, the Decorah boys golf team claimed the team title at the Northeast Iowa Conference meet. The tournament was held at Cedar Ridge Golf Course in Charles City, where the Vikings finished second at the sectional meet just last Friday.
The Vikings shot a 318 to take the title. Charles City was a distant second, coming through with a 362. Crestwood rounded out the top-three by finishing with a 366.
In total, five Viking linksters earned all-conference status by finishing in the top-15.
Decorah senior Bryce Pierce and sophomore Sam Sacquitne shared the medalist honor by both carding a 77. This is Pierce’s third all-conference honor. He was the medalist runner-up a year ago. Sacquitne earned the medalist honor in 2013.
