Magical six; Vikings, Warriors, Trojans each crown two champs at SW Invite

The gym was rocking Saturday as the South Winn wrestling team hosted the South Winn Invite, featuring 10 teams from the area.

Osage won the tournament title, posting 240.5 points. North Fayette Valley took second with 177.5 points. Decorah earned third with 142 points, with South Winn fifth (120) and Turkey Valley sixth (118).
Area schools had six champions on the day.
Joe Knoke of Decorah took the title at 106 points. In the quarterfinals he pinned Tom Shirbroun of Central in 1:19. He took just 32 seconds to pin South Winn's Cody Fisher's shoulders to the mat. Moving to the finals, he defeated Miles Ramsey of Waukon by a 6-0 decision.
Carter Hubka took the gold at 113 pounds. The Decorah Viking had a bye in the first two rounds. He pinned Neal Finder of Denver-Tripoli in 4:30. Battling North Fayette Valley's Brian Jensen in the finals, Hubka won 3-0.
Tom Reicks of Turkey Valley came out on top at 120 pounds. He pinned Dakota Klingfuss of Denver-Tripoli in 1:06. It was another pin in the semis, this time in 1:44 over Riley Doeppke of MFL. He took the title by defeating Derek Fox of Osage by a 6-2 decision.
Landers Kuboushek was one of two champions from South Winn. The 182-pounder pinned Patrick Tajaran of Central in 1:14 to move to the semifinals. He threw Denver-Tripoli's Brock Sorensen in 5:37. He got a battle with Nathan Howe of MFL in the finals but held on to win 5-0.
