Two local celebrities will take the court this winter for the Luther women’s basketball team.
Sophomore Anna Madrigal and transfer junior Moran Lonning, both graduates of Decorah High School, will suit up for the Norse this winter.
Head Coach Amanda Bailey couldn’t be happier to have two natives on the squad, bringing a new style of play and hopefully some enthusiasm to Norse nation.

Magical Madrigal
Madrigal, a 2013 graduate of Decorah High School, made a splash during her freshman campaign with the Norse.
During her inaugural season, Madrigal averaged 3.3 points per game, shooting 30.6 percent from the field. She shot 34.0 percent from behind the arc, hitting 16 of her 47 tries.
Her best effort of the season came in an 87-80 victory over Wartburg, in which she came off the bench to score 15 points.
With a season under her belt, Madrigal believes this campaign will go smoother than last year.
