The Luther College women’s track team has been named a 2014 All-Academic team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Luther was one of 148 NCAA III institutions to earn this award.
A track team’s entire roster must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.10 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Luther’s team GPA was 3.30.
In addition, nine members of the team earned USTFCCAA All-Academic honors. This group included seniors Amanda Dunn (Spencer), Maggie Pierson (Plymouth, Minn.), Kayla Uphoff (Lakeville, Minn.); juniors Leah Broderick (Decorah), Anna Burke (Postville), Anna Lampe (Bellevue); and sophomores Marea Holkesvik (Decorah), Jackie Hoyme (Decorah) and Tricia Serres (Platteville, Wis.).
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic honor, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met either of the following athletic standards: a student-athlete must have competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finished the regular season ranked in the national top-35 in the nation in an individual event or ranked in the national top-25 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA performance list provided by TFRRS.org.
