The bar is set high for the Turkey Valley baseball team in 2014.
After making it all the way to the substate final in 2013, the Trojans have high hopes to make another run toward Des Moines.
Leading the way is Head Coach Dan Stepan. During his 12 years as the head man, Stepan has put together a 232-181 record.

What a finish
The Trojans of 2013 relied on eight returning letter winners to make it all way through the postsaeason. The Trojans put together a 16-17 record during the regular season and were 9-7 during the conference state, finishing fifth in the league.
In the first round, the Trojans disbanded East Buchanan 11-2. Next up was Starmont, which the Trojans took care of 9-2. In the district final, the Trojans surprised Class 1A No. 7 Kee 3-2, thanks to a Ryan Busta fielder’s choice, scoring Justin Hackman.
The season came to an end against Class 1A No. 4 Don Bosco, with the Trojans falling 10-0. They concluded the season with a 19-18 mark.
For the campaign, the Trojans hit .266, with a .368 on-base percentage and a .329 slugging clip. They scored 204 runs on 254 hits. That included 42 doubles and four home runs, along with 170 RBI. The pitching staff had a 4.86 ERA with 163 strikeouts.
