Decorah native Moran Lonning is making a name for herself as a member of the University of Northern Iowa basketball team.
Lonning, a redshirt sophomore, has found her way into the court in all nine of the Panthers' games this year.
During the early portion of the season, Lonning is averaging nearly eight minutes a game. She's hit 2-of-4 shorts from the field while collecting six total rebounds (four offensive, two defensive). She also has nine assists.
The 5'5" guard played in six games during the 2012-13 season. She redshirted in 2011-12.
As a four-year starter at Decorah, she finished her career ranked fourth on Decorah's all-time scoring list. She holds the school record for career steals with 265.
Lonning also participated in cross country, track and softball at Decorah High School and was a member of the National Honor Society.
Lonning is the daughter of Greg and Kealy Lonning.
