South Winn senior Josie Kriener made it official Monday afternoon.
Kriener signed her letter of intent to run cross country and track for the University of Northern Iowa next fall.
The harrier will bring immense talent to UNI next year. As a junior, Kriener and the South Winn cross country team qualified for state. The squad had their best finish in school history, earning third in Class 2A. Kriener powered through the 5K course to take sixth in team standings and 11th overall in 19:37.3.
She came back in the spring to put together a solid track season. She was a part of the fifth-place 4x800 relay in 9:48.43. She also was on the ninth-place distance medley relay (4:18.24). Individually, Kriener was eighth in the 1,500-meter run in 4:55.43.
