A day after hosting the Decorah Relays, a small contingent of the Decorah boys track team traveled to Waterloo to compete in the Gordy Yuska Wahawk Relays, hosted by Waterloo West.
The Vikings finished with 33 points, good for 10th. Waterloo won the meet with 115 points.
The Vikes were led by Josey Jewell. The senior was second in the discus with a throw of 140 feet, 6 inches. In the shot put, Jewell took fourth overall with 48 feet, 8.5 inches.
Patrick Larson also had a strong finish for Decorah. The senior took fifth in the 1600-meter run, crossing the finish line in 4:28.99.
The Decorah shuttle hurdle relay team took sixth in 1:02.20.
Taking seventh were the 4x800 relay, Mikhail Suvorov in the 110-meter hurdles and Jacob Drost in the high jump.
The Vikings are at North Fayette today, Thursday, April 18, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, they are at Oelwein at 5 p.m.
