What a way to finish the season for the Turkey Valley track teams.
Both the boys and girls scored 14 points in Class 1A and had several exciting finishes.
The boys took 17th with their 14 points. Mount Ayr won the boys team title with 77 points. The girls tied for 16th overall, with North-Linn winning the team crown with 57.

Izer’s finishes
Ryan Izer had two great individual races, earning top-three finishes in both. He started his state competition with the 3,200-meter run Thursday morning. He stayed near the front of the pack and made his move in the final two laps. He crossed the finish line in 9:54.38, good for third. Noah Larsen of Mount Ayr was the champion in 9:43.50. Izer also competed in one of the last events of the weekend. In the 1,600-meter run Saturday afternoon, Izer showed his power. He sprinted down the last 100 meters to take second in 4:35.48. He finished just behind Larsen of Mount Ayr, who had a time of 4:34.61.
