Decorah junior Michelle Halse got her feet wet at the state swim meet over the weekend.

Halse was the lone representative of the Vikings at the state meet, held Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8-9, in Marshalltown.

Halse qualified in the one-meter diving competition, held Friday. She advanced based on her score at the regional meet.

Halse finished the competition with 132.90 points, taking 30th.

Maggie James, a junior from Ames, won the event. Ames went on to claim the state title with 302 points, their fourth title in a row.

Halse will be back for the Vikings next season, along with a host of talented swimmers hoping to get a chance to swim at the big meet.
