The season came to an end for the Decorah freshman football team (5-4) as the Vikings fell at home to undefeated West Delaware 26-14.

"We played a very nice game, but they had a few big players that we just couldn't quite contain. We had a bunch of small, tough guys who threw their bodies around with great attitudes and intensity, and we were very pleased in our kids' effort," said Coach Scott Pierce. "We were also very pleased we had every player into the game before the end of the first quarter. This group of young men made nice strides as ball players and young men and will be ready to make the big jump to sophomore football next August. These are good kids with good attitudes. It's disappointing the season is already over."

M. DeVore picked up 122 yards rushing. Brent Schaeffer galloped for 41 yards. Cade Klimesh punted four times for 114 yards.

On defense, Brendan Numedahl had five solo and 13 assisted tackles. Klimesh had three solo and six assisted tackles, as did Dawson Meyer. Dominic Mueller had two solo and seven assisted stops. Jacob Roher had a sack.
