The free throw line was the undoing of the South Winn boys basketball team (4-4, 4-1 UIC) Tuesday night as the Warriors fell on the road to Sumner-Fred (3-6, 2-4 UIC) 50-51.

The Warriors battled back in the fourth quarter before the Cougars won the game at the free throw line.

Both teams started hot to begin the game, with the Cougars taking a 17-13 lead after the first quarter. The Warriors took control in the second quarter, going ahead 32-28 at the halftime break.

It was a slow quarter offensively for both teams in the third. However, with eight minutes remaining, it was tied 39-all.
