Tuesday night the Decorah girls swim team traveled to Waterloo to take part in a triangular with Waterloo West and Linn-Mar.

Linn-Mar came out on top at the end of the final event, taking first with 97 points. Decorah was close behind with 86 points, while Waterloo West secured 56.

In the JV meet, Linn-Mar again came out on top, this time with 116 points. Decorah was second with 101 and Waterloo West third with nine.

Four Decorah events took first in the varsity meet.

The 200-yard medley relay of Taylor Martinek, Maria Lea, Annika Wahlberg and Katie Hagensick clocked in at 2:03.35, winning by 0.29 seconds.

K. Hagensick picked up her second gold medal of the night in the 100-yard butterfly. The freshman posted a time of 30.66 in the first 50-meters and 36.09 in the back stretch to compile a time of 1:06.75. She won gold by over two seconds.

K. Hagensick, Hayley Vogt, Monica Tappe and Katelyn Yee combined talents in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The quartet touched the wall in 1:50.15, winning by just under one second.

Ta. Martinek was the champion in the 100-yard backstroke. She had a time of 1:04.94 (31.84 seconds the first 50 meters and 33.10 the back 50 meters). She won by almost three seconds.
