Football schedules announced

Football schedules for the 2014 and 2015 seasons were released today.
Decorah remains in Class 3A and is in district 3, along with Charles City, Crestwood, Independence, Vinton-Shellsburg, Waverly-Shell Rock and West Delaware.
Decorah opens the 2014 schedule at North Fayette Valley (Class 2A) Friday, Aug. 29. The Vikings host Waukon (Class 2A) Sept. 5. Independence comes to town Sept. 12. Decorah’s final non-district game is at Epworth, Western Dubuque Sept. 19. The Vikes close the season with five straight district games: Sept. 26 vs. Waverly-Shell Rock, at Vinton-Shellsburg Oct. 3, at home against Crestwood Oct. 10, at Charles City Oct. 17 and at West Delaware Oct. 24.
The 2015 schedule is Aug. 28 vs. North Fayette Valley, at Waukon Sept. 4, at Independence Sept. 11, vs. Epworth Sept. 18, at Waverly-Shell Rock Sept. 25, at home against Vinton-Shellsburg Oct. 2, at Crestwood Oct. 9, vs. Charles City Oct. 16 and at West Delaware Oct. 23
South Winn is in Class 1A, competing in District 4, along with Clayton Ridge, Dike-New Hartford, Hudson, Jesup, MFL and Sumner-Fred.
The Warriors open the 2014 season at Class 2A Waukon on Aug. 29 in non-district action.
They are at home Sept. 5 against Wapsie Valley (Class A). MFL comes to Calmar Sept. 12 to open the district season. The Warriors travel to New Hampton (Class 2A) Sept. 19 for the final non-district game. Sept. 26 the Warriors are at Sumner-Fred. They finish the season vs. Jesup Oct. 3, at Dike-New Hartford Oct. 10, at home against Clayton Ridge Oct. 17 and at home against Hudson Oct. 24.
The 2015 schedule is: Aug. 28 vs. Waukon, Sept. 4 at Wapsie Valley, Sept. 11 at MFL, Sept. 18 vs. New Hampton, Sept. 25 vs. Sumner-Fred, Oct. 2 at Jesup, Oct. 9 vs. Dike-New Hartford, Oct. 16 at Clayton Ridge and Oct. 23 at Hudson.
The Trojans have dropped into eight-man football for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
They will compete in District 4, along with Cedar Valley Christian, Central City, Central, Kee, Midland, Springville and West Central.
The Trojans kick off eight-man play Aug. 29 at home against Rockford. Sept. 5 they travel to Riceville. District action opens Sept. 12 at home against Kee. They travel to West Central Sept. 19. The Trojans are at home Sept. 26 against Springville. October games are the third at Central, at home the 10th against Midland, at Cedar Valley Christian the 17th and at Central City the 24th.
The 2015 schedule is: Aug. 28 at Rockford, Sept. 4 vs. Riceville, Sept. 11 at Kee, Sept. 18 vs. West Central, Sept. 25 at Springville, Oct. 2 vs. Central, Oct. 9 at Midland, Oct. 16 vs. Cedar Valley Christian and Oct. 23 vs. Central City.
