Five area seniors will represent Northeast Iowa in the senior all-star cross country meet, held Saturday, Nov. 9, in Ankeny on the Des Moines Area Community College Campus.

Turkey Valley's Nick Meirick and Steven Landa; South Winn's Nathan Meyer; and Decorah's Kelly Minear and Lydia Hayes will compete.

At the state qualifying meet Oct. 24, Meirick finished 26th in 18:22 while Landa was 13th in 17:42.

Meyer was a part of the third-place Class 1A winning team for the Warriors. He finished ninth in team standings and 16th overall in 17:10.6 at the state meet.

Minear and Hayes helped the Decorah girls team win its sixth state title in school history and second in a row. Hayes earned 31st individually and 38th overall in 15:52.5. Minear ran to 34th (42nd overall) in 15:55.6.
