The Decorah boys track team scored six points at the state track meet in Des Moines over the weekend.
Overall the Vikings finished with six points, good for 33rd.
Solon won the team title with 50 points.

Scoring points
Cole Svestka single-handedly scored four of the Vikings’ point. In the 400-meter run, the senior clocked in at 50.18 seconds. First place went to Jeremy Maldonado of Fort Madison in 49.28 seconds.
The distance medley relay also gave the Vikes points. Teammates Drake Bauer, Jake Hovden, Svestka and Isaac Luzum cut seven seconds off their best time to win the second heat in 3:36.90. They finished seventh overall. Algona won the event in 3:30.65 out of heat three.
