Looking back at 2013
Last season the Warriors returned six athletes with varsity time – Caitlin Holien, Megan Elsbernd, Megan Bushman, Megan Hageman, Miranda Fisher and Eleanor Lofte.
Those six combined to compose the varsity line-up for much of the season.
At the Upper Iowa Conference meet, the Warriors faced a tough field. In the end, they placed fourth overall with a 427, finishing just two strokes out of third. Two Warriors earned all-UIC honors. Hageman finished eighth overall with a 102 while Holien was 13th with a 106. It was the second year in a row the duo earned all-conference. Other scores were Bushman, 107; M. Elsbernd, 112; Lofte, 112; Fisher, 114.
It was a big day on the greens for the Warriors at the regional meet in Fayette. Ranked No. 7 in Class 2A heading into the event, South Winn finished second by carving out 414 strokes. Individually, Bushman advanced by finishing fifth overall with a 97.
The season came to an end for the Warriors at the regional finale as they shot a 421 to take fourth overall. Bushman and M. Elsbernd led the way by firing 100.
