The Decorah wrestling team was busy to close the 2013 portion of the schedule.

The Vikes were on the road Thursday in a conference dual with Waverly-Shell Rock, went across the border Friday to battle Caledonia, then stayed in Minnesota for the annual FCLMC Wolves Holiday Tournament.

Facing a ranked team

Braving the ice and a ranked opponent, the Vikings traveled to Waverly-Shell Rock to take on the Class 3A No. 2-ranked Go-Hawks Thursday, falling 61-15.

Two Vikings picked up victories. At 113 pounds, Carter Hubka pinned Logan Derifield in 3:14. Alec Fjelstul (152 pounds) was the other Viking to pick up a victory. He grabbed a 5-1 decision over Levi Meier. Colten Mikkelson (126 pounds) won by forfeit.
