The Class 3A No. 1 Decorah football team (12-0) is headed home - to the Dome that is - after defeating Central Clinton De Witt 21-14 Friday night in the quarterfinals.

The Vikes will face Williamsburg (11-1) in the semifinals Thursday, Nov. 8, at the UNI-Dome on the UNI campus in Cedar Falls, with kickoff scheduled for 8:21 p.m. Williamsburg advanced by defeating Winterset 31-13.

The winner of the semifinal match will face the winner of Sioux City Bishop Heelan (11-1) and Grinnell (12-0) Thursday, Nov. 15, at 7:06 p.m. at the UNI-Dome.

This is the second time in a row the Vikes have advanced to the semifinals, the third time in the last five years and sixth time since 1997. They've moved on to the finals four times since 1997 and twice in the past five years. Last year they finished second to Union-La Porte City.

"I was tickled pink to get a win like that against a tough team this late in the playoffs," said Head Coach Bill Post, who is seeking his first state title at the helm. "We had to fight on every play. I was very satisfied with the effort. There were a few things I wish we would have done better, but the key is we played hard."
