For the first time all year, the Decorah boys golf team got out on the links two days in a row last week, showing steady improvement.
After rain forced the Decorah Invite to be moved, the teams finally got on the links Thursday afternoon at Oneota.
In the end, it was Manchester that came out on top, winning the meet with a 314. Decorah came in second with 316 strokes while Owatonna was third with 320 strokes.
Medalist of the meet was Will Leaf of Winona. He carded a 35 on the front nine and 38 on the back for a 73 total.
The Vikings were led by Bryce Pierce. The junior posted a 42 on the front nine and 34 on the back for a 76 total. Michael Peter was right behind him. The senior fired a 77 (38-39). Peter Kephart contributed with a 79 (42-37). Also playing for the varsity were Eric Fulsaas (42-42=84), Tyler Hovey (40-44=84) and Sam Sacquitne (44-40=84).
