The Decorah wrestling team proved it will be a tough team to beat on the mat this tournament season when it hosted the Decorah Duals Saturday.
The Vikes won its own team tournament title by going 5-0 on the day. It's the first time the Vikes have won the event since 2010.
Turkey Valley finished second with a 4-1 record while South Winn was fourth with a 2-3 mark.
In addition, the Vikes swept the awards and had five named to the all-tournament team. Senior Hans Holkesvik was named the Bruce Kinseth Award winner, honoring the wrestler who posts the most pins in the quickest time. Holkesvik had five pins in a total of 7:15. In addition, Holkesvik was named the Natvig/Wicks/Fullhart Award winner, honoring the most outstanding wrestler voted on by the officials and coaches.
Five Vikes were named all-tournament, meaning they were undefeated on the day. Four Trojans and one Warrior were named all-tournament, in addition to three from Western Dubuque.
