Despite keeping the game close Tuesday night, the Decorah boys basketball team (1-3, 0-2 NEIC) couldn't get over the hump at home, falling to NEIC- opponent Charles City (2-3, 1-1 NEIC) 38-43.

The Comets pulled away first, taking an 8-2 lead in the opening frame. The advantage grew to eight before being cut to five at 12-7 at the end of the quarter. The Vikes again fell behind by eight, this time 9-18 with five minutes remaining before the half; however, they were able to draw to back to a five-point advantage at the half, 17-22.
