A little rain didn’t stop the Turkey Valley girls track team Thursday night as the Trojans competed at Nashua-Plainfield.
The Trojans finished third overall with 84 points. West Fork won the meet with 94 points.
The Trojans had five events place first, led by the forceful performances by their throwers.
“Our throwing events were strong again tonight,” noted Coach Brian Schmitt.
Senior Chloe Reicks threw a season best in the discus, taking first with a throw of 115 feet, 7 inches. Teammate Delaney Lensing threw a personal best 93 feet, 10 inches, taking fourth. C. Reicks also was first in the shot put with a put of 35 feet.
The 4x800 relay was the lone quartet to take first. Sadie Nymeyer, Stephaine Martin, Kirsten Huinker and Shelby Reicks posted a time of 10:33.54, winning by nearly 20 seconds.
