With the season winding down, the South Winn boys basketball team (13-7, 11-4 UIC) split two games to start the week.

The Warriors won at Waukon Monday and fell at Postville Tuesday night.

Road win

Monday the Warriors traveled to Waukon and knocked off the Northeast Iowa Conference home team (6-10) 68-63. Both teams were on fire in the first quarter, with South Winn going up 20-18. It was back and forth in the second, with neither squad able to pull away. When the dust had settled at the halftime break, Waukon was up 37-36.

The Warriors outscored the Indians 13-9 in the third to go up 49-46 and held on in the fourth.

"A balanced attack led to the victory," said Coach Chris Streeter.

Senior Trevor Schweinefus led the team with 24 points. Adam Lensing posted 16 while Andre Walz had 11 and Jordan Rommes 10.
