The gym was hopping Tuesday night in Calmar as the South Winn wrestling team took on North Butler and Nashua-Plainfield in a triangular meet.
The Warriors defeated North Butler 42-27 and fell to Nashua-Plainfield 57-21.
Four Warriors were perfect on the night. At 126 pounds, Luis Uribe picked up an 8-2 decision over Austin Janssen of North Butler and came back later in the night to pin Nashua-Plainfield's Matthew Stille in 2:33.
It was a thrilling two matches for Landers Kuboushek. The freshman 170-pounder was back and forth with North Butler's Connor Tindall before picking up a 16-14 win. In his second match he pinned Tyler Larson in 4:44. Senior Colton Hageman had another good performance on the mat. At 182 pounds, he took just 16 seconds to pin North Butler's Jacob Groeneveld. He also won 7-2 over Nashua-Plainfield's Jason Fisher.
