Three Decorah girls basketball players were recognized by the Northeast Iowa Conference.
Senior Anna Madrigal was named first team while senior Abby Arend was named second team. Senior Noreen Gentry was named honorable mention.
Madrigal and Arend were both recognized last year, with Madrigal a second team honoree and Arend honorable mention.
Madrigal led the team with 12.9 points a game. She shot 37.2 percent from the floor, hit 30.8 percent of her three-point attempts and shot 67.1 percent from the free throw line. She also led the team in rebounds with 122 total for a 5.8 rebounds per game average. She dished out 34 assists, had 38 steals and blocked six shots.
Arend was second on the team in scoring with 12.0 points per game. She shot 37.9 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from behind the arc. She was second in free throw percentage with 72.6 percent of her attempts going in. Arend led the team in assists with 59, along with 69 steals, a team high. Arend averaged 2.9 boards a game.
Gentry put up 7.4 points a game. She shot 41 percent from the floor and led the team in free throw percentage with 76 percent. She also connected on 18 three-point attempts. She was second on the team in rebounds a night with 5.6. Gentry contributed 21 assists and 40 steals, along with eight blocks, a team high
