The Decorah boys and girls track teams got a chance to see the competition Tuesday night as they traveled to Wartburg to compete in the Northeast Iowa Conference indoor meet.
No team scores were kept.

Coming up golden
The Viking boys had three events take first place and six come up in the silver spot.
Junior Jake Hovden was the champion of the 55-meter dash. Hovden cut 0.04 seconds off his seed time to take first in 6.99 seconds. Second place went to Brandt Seward of Waverly-Shell Rock in 7.00 seconds.
Andrew Larson took the other gold medal for the Vikings. He took the 1,600-meter title in 5:06.11, a win by one second.
The only relay to take first was the shuttle hurdle squad. Bryton Meyer, Jon Elsbernd, Holt Johansen and Mikhail Suvorov broke the tape in 35.91 seconds.
Mikhail Suvorov was 0.01 seconds from first place in the 55-meter hurdles. He took second in 8.23 seconds, behind Tommy Bates of Waverly-Shell Rock in 8.22 seconds.
Bryce Hosting, Collin Nimrod, Isaac Luzum and Garret Hemesath finished 0.04 seconds out of first, posting a time of 8:47.36 in the 4x800.
