Former South Winn High School athletes Jon Ameling and Dominik Lensing were honored for their athletic achievements at Coe College.
Ameling, of Ossian, earned an athletic letter for outstanding participation on the Coe College men’s track and field team during the 2013-14 academic year. Ameling, a 2010 graduate of South Winneshiek High School, is the son of David and Dianne Ameling. Ameling is a fourth-year letter winner in men’s track and field. He earned All-Iowa Conference honors as a member of Coe’s third-place 4x800-meter relay team at the Iowa Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships this year. Ameling was also named to the Academic All-Iowa Conference Team. The men’s track and field team is under the direction of second-year Head Coach Aaron Carley.
Lensing, of Calmar, earned an athletic letter for outstanding participation on the Coe College football team during the 2013-14 academic year. Lensing, a 2011 graduate of South Winneshiek High School, is the son of Teddie and Russell Lensing. Lensing is a first-year letter winner in football. The football team is under the direction of six-year Head Coach Steve Staker. Coe finished the season with a 7-3 record, with a 4-3 mark in the IIAC.
