It was quite a day for the Decorah girls golf team Tuesday.
After finishing seventh at last year’s Northeast Iowa Conference meet, the girls made a big jump this season, all the way to fourth.
Decorah toured the course in 421 strokes at Oelwein. Charles City won the meet with 381 strokes. Waverly-Shell Rock came in second with 392 while New Hampton was third with a 396.
The meet was originally scheduled for Monday but was postponed due to rain.

In addition to their big finish in team standings, Decorah had two athletes finish in the top-15 to earn all-conference honors. Junior Talia Raddatz carded a 98 to earn ninth-place. Sophomore Alexa Lensing joined her on the all-conference recognition. Lensing fired a 103 to tie for 13th.
Other linksters earning a spot on the list include Megan Joerger, 87; Savannah Lenz, 92; McKenzie Weidemier, 93; Victoria Speltz, 94; Bailee Wallace, 94; Addie Crawford, 95; Emma Prescott, 96; Sydney Etherington, 96; Madison Shatek, 100; Megan Fitzgerald, 101; Ellie Ewart, 101; Jamie Singlinger, 103; and Maddie Fredrich, 103.
