The weather continues to create havoc for the Turkey Valley baseball team (8-8. 4-2 UIC) as the Trojans' home game with Oelwein Tuesday was postponed to Tuesday, July 9, at 4 p.m.

Monday the Trojans traveled to Sumner to face Sumner-Fred (12-7, 4-4 UIC).

Battling in the first game, the Cougars struck for two in the first, three in the third and three in the fifth to get the 8-2 victory. The Trojans got a run in the first inning when Riley Meirick walked. He scored on a Dalton Hackman single. The second Trojan run came in the sixth when Meirick reached base on an error. He scored on a D. Hackman fly out.

TV had just three hits. D. Hackman had a single and drove in two. Mike Novotny pounded a double, while Kyle Reicks had a single.

Ryan Busta took the loss. He went five innings, giving up eight runs (only four earned) and 11 hits. Novotny threw the final inning.
