The Luther softball team's eight game win streak was snapped Saturday as SUNY Cortland defeated the Norse 9-1 in five innings.

Leading 3-1 entering the top half of the third, Cortland scored six runs following a two-out error by the Norse that kept the inning alive. The frame was capped off by a grand slam home run to left field.

Luther's lone run of the ball game was produced on a sacrifice fly by Kelsey Weindruch in the second.

The loss gives Luther an overall record of 33-10. The Norse will face Texas-Tyler at noon Sunday in an elimination game. Earlier Saturday Texas-Tyler eliminated Central College 5-4 in eight innings.
