The Luther softball team improved to 20-5 overall by going 3-for-4 at home Monday and Tuesday.

Monday the Norse defeated the University of Dubuque 10-7 and 9-1 (five innings). In game one, the No. 9 Norse won the slugfest game in which the teams combined for 22 hits. Katie Wieland had a two-run home run in the third and a solo shot in the fourth while Morgan Franklin had one home run.

In game two, the Norse had six runs on five hits in the bottom of the fifth. Franklin had a two-run homer while Carli Radil had a solo shot. Erica Manske (7-0) allowed one run on three hits, walked two and struck out two.

Luther has now won 23 consecutive games over Dubuque.

Tuesday the Norse split with UW-La Crosse. In game one, La Crosse scored four runs in the third and five in the fifth to win 9-6. Shari Huber hit two lead off home runs. Miranda McCay also tallied two RBI with a single during Luther's three-run first.

In game two, Luther won 9-8 in eight innings. In the eighth, Elise Miller led off with a single. Lindsey Uphoff pinch ran for Miller and scored on a game winner when Huber hit a fly ball that was dropped. Girvan (12-3) picked up the win in relief. Girvan threw the final 3 1/3 innings and held the Eagles scoreless, striking out three.

Luther is tied with No. 15 Coe and No. 17 Central with a 7-1 conference record.
