The Luther softball team advanced to the championship game of the Whitewater Regional, defeating North Central (Ill.) 4-2 Saturday.

The Norse are now one win away from advancing to the eight-team NCAA III Championship finals for a fourth consecutive year. The victory gives Luther an overall record of 31-9.

The Norse scored four runs on five hits led by Kelsey Weindruch, who tallied two RBI.

Becca Girvan improved to 21-5, going the distance in the circle. Girvan allowed one run on four hits, walked three and struckout two.

Sunday's championship game is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. What team Luther will play will be determined Sunday.
