The Luther men's soccer team was chosen for an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III soccer tournament.
Luther (14-6) will travel to Lake Forest (14-6) for the first round game Thursday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m.
This is the seventh time Luther has qualified for the national tournament and the second time under Head Coach Chris Garcia-Prats. In 2011, the Norse advanced to the Round of 16 before being eliminated by Hope, 6-5, on penalty kicks after playing the Flying Dutchmen to a 1-1, double-overtime draw.
Luther also qualified for the national tournament in 1996, 1998, 1999, 2001 and 2002, advancing to the quarterfinals in 1996 and 2001.
Lake Forest won the program's second straight league championship and the 16th conference title in team history. The Foresters earned an automatic bid to the national tournament after capturing the MWC Tournament title. The Foresters enter the tournament with a five-game win streak. The NCAA Tournament appearance is the third in program history but the first since 1980.
The winner of this match will travel to Loras College Sunday, Nov. 17.
