The Luther men's basketball team (13-5, 6-1 IIAC) took sole possession of first place in the Iowa Conference, defeating Wartburg 75-61 at Levick Arena Wednesday night.

Both teams entered the game tied atop the league standings with only one loss.

Luther took its first and final lead four minutes into the first half.

Tyler Wedemeier and Zach Matos-Pritchard led the way with 18 and 15 points, respectively. The duo also led the team with six rebounds each. Cale Austin was one point shy of double digits with nine, all coming from behind the three-point line.

Luther will return home for the first time in 10 days for a rematch with University of Dubuque Saturday at 7 p.m. Dubuque (6-2, 14-4) handed Luther its only loss in the first half of the IIAC schedule, a 76-73 decision in overtime this past Monday night.
