A goal by Decorah native Martin Stalberger in overtime gave the Luther men's soccer team (13-5, 6-1 IIAC) its second Iowa Conference regular season championship in the past three years.

The Norse defeated No. 9 Wartburg (14-3-2, 6-1 IIAC) 1-0 in double overtime Tuesday in Waverly.

Stalberger scored with just five seconds remaining in the second overtime. The goal was his second of the season, and it could not have come at a better time.

The victory secured a three-way tie for the regular season Iowa Conference title with Loras and Wartburg. The league title is the second for the Norse under the direction of Head Coach Chris Garcia-Prats and the eighth in school history.

The Norse will be the No. 3 seed for the six-team Iowa Conference Tournament that will begin Saturday, Nov. 2. Luther will host No. 6 Central at 7 p.m.
