Dear Editor:

Following the tragic grade-school shootings in Connecticut, Barack Obama signed 23 executive orders to combat gun violence. Only Executive Order 17 has any merit, but I suspect liberals on the far left will state that this Executive Order is a violation of civil rights.

Consider these facts: · Adam Lanza (Connecticut grade-school killer) was on anti-depressants, played violent video games, attended violent movies, watched TV; · James Holmes (Colorado movie theater killer) was on anti-depressants, played violent video games, attended violent movies, watched TV; • Jared Loughner (Arizona killer who shot Congresswoman Gifford) was on anti-depressants, played violent video games, attended violent movies, watched TV.

As Jeff Snyder pointed out in his letter to the editor on Jan 24, the senseless killings in Connecticut led to an onslaught of the 2nd Amendment and did not address the factors that contributed to this shooting.

It is clear that Obama/Biden are not really interested in the safety of our children. Consider the following: The number of people shot in Chicago in 2012 was 2,670. Of the 2,670 people shot, 440 of them were school-aged children. Sixty (60) school-aged children were murdered in Chicago in 2012.

Why did Obama/Biden ignore the 60 children murdered in Chicago? Is it because the majority of those killed were minorities? That is the conclusion I have drawn; shame on Obama.
