TED SCHRANDT, 84, of Decorah, died Monday, Sept, 9, 2013, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wis. Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 307 West Main Street, Decorah, with Rev. Phillip Gibbs presiding. Burial is at St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery, Decorah. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at the Schluter-Balik Funeral home in Decorah, and also after 9 a.m. Saturday morning at the funeral home. Ted is survived by his wife, Edna Schrandt, Decorah; three children: Mary (Bill) Prouty, New Hampton; Mark (Kim) Schrandt, Cashton, Wis.; and Barb Thayer, Urbandale; six grandchildren: Zach Prouty, Kelly (Mark) Lehnherr, Kara (Jacob) Cina, Stacy (Jay) Kraabel, Hannah Thayer and Emma Thayer; three great-grandchildren: Brooke and Brady Lehnherr and Jasper Cina; one sister, Eunice Krause, Dallas, Ore.; sisters- and brothers-in-law: Norma Schrandt, Cedar Falls; Mary Lou Manning, Lansing; Evelyn Schnitzler, Decorah; Margaret (friend, Frank Klemm) Kamp, Marion; Joyce Mailey, Cedar Rapids; Dorothy Kay (Ronald) Barth, Cedar Rapids; Charles (Fran) Schnitzler, Burr Oak; Donald (Carol) Schnitzler, Decorah; and Julie Marhoul, Decorah; along with many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
