Richard "Big Red" Lee Weller, 78, of Delavan, Wis., formerly of Beloit, Wis., died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Beloit Memorial Hospital in Beloit, Wis. At Red’s request, no public services will be held. Richard was born Jan. 13, 1936, in Iowa City, the son of Earl and Vera (Boyer) Weller. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957, and then in the reserves from 1957 to 1962. In 1968, Red married the former Sandra Withrow in Decorah. Red was employed for more than 20 years at the Chrysler Assembly Plant in Belvidere, Ill., retiring in 1992. He also owned and operated Cross Road Bar in Beloit, Wis.

Richard is survived by one daughter, Rhonda (Steve) Deschner; two sons, Ryan (Debbie) Weller, Ronald Kaye; grandchildren: Brantly Deschner, Brock Deschner, Brian Deschner, David Weller. 

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Weller.
