Phyllis Wanda Lippe Blevins died suddenly of natural causes in Topeka, Kan. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013. A memorial service was Thursday, Feb. 7, at Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 North Kansas Ave, in Topeka. Interment was at Westlawn Memorial Gardens in Topeka. Phyllis was a frequent visitor to Decorah and its surrounds, and loved Northeast Iowa's history, culture and people-she particularly enjoyed her time with family and friends-including those she became acquainted with at Burr Oak and Calmar United Methodist Churches. She is survived by children Michael (Decorah), Zack (Topeka, Kan.), Tom (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Beth (Larry) Blevins Briggs (McPherson, Kan.); grandchildren Amy Cameron (Eric) of Pasadena, Calif.; Kelly (David) of Overland Park, Kan.; Wendy Gray (Richard) of Richfield, Minn.; Travis Briggs, McPherson, Kan.; Emily Briggs of Kansas City, Mo., Nathan Abernathy (Topeka); great-grandson Isaac Cameron; brothers Emmett (Marj) Lippe of (Michigan) and Gary (Carol) Lippe (Dubuque), sister Avis (Keith) Chartier of Topeka, Kan.; and a large and beloved extended family.
