Patricia Bea (Stenzel) Schwamman, 53, of Castle Rock, Colo., passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at home surrounded by family. A visitation is at 6 p.m. with rosary services at 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 31, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2746 Fifth Street Castle Rock, Colo. The funeral service is at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 1, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2746 Fifth Street Castle Rock, Colo. Patricia was born Feb. 9, 1960, to Alfred and Caroline Stenzel in Blue Earth, Minn. She grew up in Buffalo Center, on her family's farm. She graduated from Buffalo Center High School in 1978. After high school, she attended Iowa State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in consumer sciences. Patricia married James Schwamman July 2, 1983, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Buffalo Center. For 29 years, she and James lived near St. Louis, Mo., where they raised their children, Thomas and Laura Schwamman.
Patricia is survived by her husband, James of Castle Rock, Colo.; her son, Thomas, of Aurora, Colo.; her daughter, Laura of Denver, Colo.; her parents, Alfred and Caroline of Iowa Falls; her brother, Gary (Patricia) Stenzel of Iowa Falls; her parents-in-law, Clarence and Darlene Schwamman of St. Lucas; her sister-in-law, Gail (Timothy) Bradford of Waverly; her brothers-in-law, Michael (Pia) Schwamman of Wichita, Kan. and Patrick (Barb) Schwamman of Cresco; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Patricia was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ted and Bina Van Hove and Hugo and Ottilee Stenzel.
